#BadassBudgeting Tip of the Day: Borrow Books from the Library
The local library is a wealth of information, from popular books to DVDs to other reference materials like old newspapers, the library has it all! I love the holds system at the library where you can sign into your account online (with library card) and request books. The system places a hold on the book and when it comes into your local library branch, the library emails or calls you to notify you that the book is on hold in their hold stacks and ready for pickup.
I account the library for much of my personal finance knowledge over and above what I teach and constantly learn on-the-job as an Associate Financial Advisor. I love the books by David Bach, author of the Finish Rich series, Canadian writer, TV personality and financial advisor, Gail Vaz-Oxlade and of course, the classic Dave Ramsey. Each has their own lessons and advice to teach that is unique and valuable in its own way.
Recently I've been reading the book recommended by YouTube Personality, Ali Abdaal, "How to Not Die Alone: The Surprising Science That Will Help You Find Love" by Logan Ury and "When the Body Says No" by Gabor Mate. I've heard great things about Gabor Mate's books yet have never made the time to read any of them until now.
What about you? I'd love to know if you use your local library too and what books you love to read and recommend. Signed, Filipina Budget Girl.
