#BadassBudgeting Tip of the Day: Mindfulness and Money

There are personal finance books that teach the importance of intentionality (the act of being intentional with our money and choices) and what I find goes hand-in-hand with this is mindfulness. So what is the relationship between mindfulness and money?

Practicing mindfulness and applying it to our relationship with money forces us to slow down and be deliberate with how we are spending our money and time. It forces us to reflect on that which we truly want and need and follow through with those needs rather than impusively giving in to our wants.

Mindfulness makes us slow down, breathe, and be in the moment of our spending and saving journeys and gives us an opportunity to reflect on how we are doing. Try practicing mindfulness by tuning into mindfulness meditations on Youtube for a few days, weeks, and months and see how you feel. These mindfulness practices will ripple out into other areas of your life and hopefully benefit you in the long term. Try it out and let me know how it goes! Signed, Filipina Budget Girl.
