#FinanceFridays: Preparing to Succeed with New Year's Resolutions

Many of us know of and are familiar with making New Year's Resolutions. This post will out line ways to prepare yourself to succeed when setting New Year's Goals and Resolutions.

Start today. There's no need to wait until New Year's and face the added pressure of prescribing the term "New Year's Resolutions" to your goals. Start your goal-setting today and make them SMART goals: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-Bound.

Break large goals down into manageable chunks. Do you have a goal you'd like to reach by December 31, 2023? Break the goal down into 3-month, monthly, weekly and daily goals. You can do this by creating a habit tracker to track how much progress or action you've taken on your goal that day / week / month / 3-month. The planner I like best to track big goals is the Clever Fox Planner that can be purchased on Amazon. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Find an accountability partner. Know someone that is working on the same goals you are? Ask them to be your accountability partner. Maybe you're looking to workout 3 days per week. This person can be your gym-buddy to make sure you're not alone and that they can help to hold you accountable to your goals.

Take things day-by-day. Take things day-by-day. Not having a good day? Try again tomorrow. Don't let one setback HOLD you back. Remember, each action, each step of progress is still progress. As one of my mentors calls it, "all or something". Meaning that taking one small action counts for something and it better than doing absolutely nothing to get you closer to your goals.

Start today, break large goals into manageable chunks, find an accountability partner, take things day-by-day. Do you have more tips and advice you think people will benefit from when it comes to New Year's Resolutions? We'd love to know in the comments below! Signed, Filipina Budget Girl.
