#BadassBudgeting Tip of the Day: The Importance of Mindfulness and Intentionality
When you hear the word “mindfulness”, what do you think of? It’s a term that has become popular over the years from yoga classes to corporate training seminars. Mindfulness is a form of observing our thoughts without the need to act on, or especially, solve them immediately. Simply observing our thoughts and being the higher being behind the thoughts is what a mindfulness practice is all about. Now, how does this relate to money?
With a regular mindfulness practice, our thoughts and behaviours shift to intentionality which is integral to successful money management, budgeting, saving... you name it. In focusing on mindfulness and intentionality, each dollar of our earnings is assigned a “home” and goes much further than if we were living without mindfulness and intentionality.
With each dollar being assigned a home in our budget and therefore, our money is stretched further than if we simply get paid and the money is distributed every which way without being tracked, ie. without mindfulness. Mindfulness helps us determine different solutions with our earnings and choose the best form of action to make our money go further, or at least this is what I do with each payday!
If you have questions about mindfulness and intentionality, feel free to comment below and I’ll answer your questions. The practice of mindfulness and intentionality can help our money go so much further with intentional goals and daily mindfulness.
