I went from being untrained and uneducated to earning my Honours Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, earning my Mutual Funds License and working up the ranks within the Canadian Banking system to where I am today as an Assistant Bank Manager.

Here are my tips on earning employment at a Canadian Bank and how maybe you can start working and building your career within a Canadian financial institution too.

  1. Do your research, find out who is hiring and apply online.

  2. Obtain further training and education.

  3. Obtain your mutual funds license.

  4. Grow applicable skills and work experiences in your current job or within your volunteer work.

  5. Get connected to people who work in the industry now.

  6. Continue to network, network, network.

  7. Reach out to your network for informational interviews. This will also leave you at the forefront of hiring managers' minds if the informational interview goes well.
